For the second year in a row, Milgro belongs to the Top 250 Dutch Scale-Ups. This list of fastest-growing companies is published annually by the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Rotterdam School of Management of the Erasmus University.
To be included in the list, companies must employ at least 10 FTE or have a turnover of more than 5 million euros, and must have grown more than 20% on average in FTE or turnover in the past three years. Milgro has consistently met these criteria over the past of years; even growing 60% in turnover in 2018.
The Top 250 Scale-Ups was announced on Wednesday 20 March at the yearly event of nlgroeit (NL Grows) in the Ahoy event centre in Rotterdam. At the event, growth entrepreneurs were treated to an interview about the business climate in the Netherlands with state secretary of economic affairs Mona Keijzer. The evening also included an ‘inspiration show’ with previous ‘winners’ such as Pieter Zwart (Coolblue) and Jitse Groen (Thuisbezorgd.nl).
Co-CEO Laurens Groen sees the mention in the Top 250 as extra encouragement to continue the selected growth strategy. “Milgro connects producers and users of secondary resources. This centres around our technology and digital processes. By further developing those, the scalability of our business strongly increases. So we expect to continue growing fast over the next years.”
