Pala Group, consisting of nine BMW dealerships, four MINI dealerships and a car bodyshop in the south-east of the Netherlands, has entered into a collaboration with Milgro from the 1st of August 2018. Selecting Milgro for improving the sustainability of their waste management follows Pala Group’s certification as “Erkend Duurzaam Plus” (“acknowledged sustainability”) in 2017 and fits well with the sustainability policy of BMW Netherlands.
Sustainability is not a new concept for Pala Group. Frank Joosten, Business Development Manager for Pala Group, explains: “Corporate social responsibility and especially saving the environment are a central part of our policy. BWM Netherlands actively supports its dealerships in takings steps towards this goal. In our search for a partner that offers solutions for waste management, Milgro stood out positively because of their innovations in sustainability. Innovation has been a key issue for BWM in all its products and processes for decades now, so this partnership felt very comfortable.”
Edwin van Lieshout, Financial Director at Pala Group, adds: “We aim to be a leader in sustainability. We hope that other BMW dealerships will also connect to Milgro’s system so that together we can become a role model for BMW in Europe on the subject of sustainable waste management.”
Pala Group did not choose Milgro just because of sustainability. Joosten explains: “Milgro’s specialists are very knowledgeable and have shown that they are well-informed about waste management for mobility companies. In their approach, waste management in our branches is adapted to the number of mechanics employed. Using the data collected in its platform, Milgro can actively direct separate waste collection and reduce the amount residual waste. This saves money for us, but more importantly, it further implements our CSA policy.”
“The collaboration with Pala Group means that Milgro has now connected almost all car brands in the Netherlands to its resource management platform, which adds to our knowledge of the mobility market,” says Olivier de Wit, Consultant Resource Management Mobility at Milgro. “The data in our system confirm that, next to many similarities, there are also significant differences in waste composition between car brands.
“The focus of our value creation for customers is gradually expanding towards becoming a true technology and data partner. By using the knowledge from extensive data analyses in all car brands, we can service our customers even better and take ever larger steps towards the circular economy.”
