Milgro and VINCI Facilities, the world’s largest private sector concession construction group, can look back on a successful year. A year ago, VINCI asked Milgro to bring the waste and resource management of one of their customers to a higher level. Today, efficiency has been greatly improved for both parties.
The achieved results closely mirror expectations. One thing that has significantly improved is reporting. Preparing for an ISO 14001 audit will now take a lot less time. The reports also give the client a better view of their waste streams, and relate this information to the number of units produced. By improving waste stream separation, waste disposal costs per unit produced have been reduced by 30%. These are results that both parties can be proud of.
Martijn Schakelaar, Contract Manager at VINCI Facilities, adds: “The reports provided by Milgro have given me insight into waste streams, which allows me to offer my client a lot more added value. I can now see what’s the most efficient way to deal with waste streams.”
Next year, the parties will focus on further developing sustainable waste and resource management. Improvements will be implemented gradually.
