Columbus and Milgro renew contract

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

The group purchasing organisation Columbus and Milgro recently continued their existing collaboration by entering into a new framework agreement. In addition to focusing on optimal waste separation and waste reduction, over the next few years the partners will also pay a great deal of attention to the re-use of raw materials and gaining further insight into the wastage of raw materials as a result of production downtimes.

The Columbus group purchasing organisation was founded in 2002 by a number of Dutch food manufacturers. Since then, over 20 leading firms in the sector have joined the association. Columbus’s senior purchasing coordinator Marcel Guitoneau explains their decision to team up with Milgro: “By entering into this framework agreement, we can actively contribute to the responsible use of natural resources and help to maintain a healthy environment for future generations. This will allow Columbus to make a positive contribution to sustainable chain management in the years ahead.”

Milgro’s Consultant Resource Management Alex van Kuilenburg is pleased with the new agreement. “After an extensive selection process, Columbus has once again chosen Milgro as a strategic partner. We have already been working together for more than a decade, and we are committed to once again creating sustainable value for Columbus’s members over the coming years.”
