The manufacturer and exporter of Asian food products Go-Tan will be outsourcing its waste management activities to Milgro.
On 1 July 2017 a start was made on connecting Go-Tan to Milgro’s digital waste management system. Based on the generated data and Milgro’s specialist expertise, this will enable the company to implement changes in its waste structures and processes that can further improve its waste performance. In addition, Milgro will be closely involved in structuring the waste process in the new production area that Go-Tan will be opening in late 2017.
Owned by the Gos – ‘a very foodloving family’ – this professional company manufactures a growing range of Asian products, including stir-fry and other sauces, noodles, snacks, chilli sauces and side dishes. Most products are produced at Go-Tan’s own facility in the Dutch region of De Betuwe, from where they are distributed throughout Europe. Go-Tan’s QESH Manager Maartje van Son: “As a food manufacturer, we have a major responsibility, and CSR consequently forms an important part of our policy. We constantly work to further optimise our interaction with people, resources, energy and waste. Milgro understands which responsibility we bear and actively thinks along with us on how to further improve the sustainability of our waste management processes.”
“It’s wonderful to see how corporate social responsibility has been incorporated in Go-Tan’s fundamental policies. We support their CSR programme by taking a substantial share of their concerns off their hands, as well as making a targeted effort to improve their sustainability performance. This allows this ambitious family company to focus entirely on the swift and flexible creation of high-quality products,” says Milgro’s Consultant Resource Manager Alex van Kuilenburg.
